Candy Bar Creations

Michelle from Poppy Pear made these cute crafts for the Symfully Sweet Project Contest at Symmetry in Motion.  She used the colors from the Hershey's Candy Bars to create a Thanksgiving Banner and Pumpkins.

Sweet and Simple Cards

It's time for another Symfully Sweet Project over at Symmetry in Motion!  This month's candy was Hershey's Miniatures Candy Bars.  I must tell you that it was a little more difficult to come up with something using these tiny candy bars.  I decided to make mini cards and actually had a lot of fun doing them!  Take a look for yourself and let me know what you think.

Candy Corn Sign

I have been inspired by my friend Brooks to enter a craft contest.  Every month a new candy is introduced and you have to create a craft according to the candy.  Check it out at Symmetry In Motion.  This month the theme was Candy Corn.  I got kind of excited and had a few ideas but the idea that one was a wooden sign.  This was my first attempt and I think it turned out pretty good!!!

Candy Corn Skirts

My sister Michelle Brooks at Poppy Pear made these candy corn skirts.  Her blog is private so I am posting them for her for a craft contest over at Symmetry in Motion.  Go check out all the other candy corn inspired crafts!

Fabric Flowers from Poppy Pear

I received these fabric flowers in the mail today from the etsy shop Poppy Pear.  They are so cute!!  The flowers go with a silver glitter headband and are interchangeable.  My oldest is so excited to wear them to school next week!  If you are interested in any custom orders from Poppy Pear, go to http://www.poppypear.com/.  Poppy Pear also made the Christmas Skirts that are on an older post.

One Last Thing...

When I was making these flowers I was stuck.  I like them to be full but it made an odd number.  I tried to get four of each out of the petals I had but I didn't like how they looked.  In the end I made three of each of the yellow flowers.  My girls don't need to wear three flowers in their hair at a time so I decided to give them away.  Does anyone want to win some yellow flower clips??  If you want to win you need to leave a comment on this blog post (not on Facebook) by midnight on Thursday, August 26...I will pick the winner on Friday morning.
The coloring is a little off...I promise they are really cute!!!

Random Clips

I found this ribbon already cut out in my ribbon drawer.  S was excited about the pink polka dots.
This ribbon is really lime green.  We'll see what we can find to go with it!!
I had dreams of making this ribbon flower look cute...I am not sure I like it!
I didn't make these but put them on anyway.  I won them a year or so ago off another blog but couldn't ever use them.  They were made with the cheap alligator clips (like you get in boxes of 100 at Beauty Supply stores).  I tried everything I could think of to get them to stay in S's hair but they always slipped right out.  I finally got the guts to try ripping them off their clips so I could put new ones one...it worked!!  I am so excited to use these now because I think they are really cute!

Yellow and White Flowers

I bought these flowers about six months ago on hair-hardware.com and finally got around to putting them on clips!  Life has been a little crazy for me the last six months...I hope things will stay a little calmer so I can get back to making fun things.
